About Y4

Children grow up every day. We get pictures of them in bunches – holidays, birthdays, vacations, school plays – but what about all those days in between? How much do we miss by not documenting those little, every day things that make up the majority of our lives?

Grown-ups, of course, do document their daily lives with diaries, journals, and now blogs. Children don’t and that’s a shame because childhood is probably when our daily lives are the most interesting.

I’m the Modernish Father, a web designer, blogger and (most importantly) father. Together with my wife, NonSoccerMom, we live in Texas with our two children, an 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. We’ve also got a dog and a cat and manage to lead fairly normal, hectic lives.

This site is an experiment; one that I hope will pay off at the end of the year. Our three-year-old can’t record all of the excitement and wonder of her daily life herself, so I’m going to give it a try.

Every evening, I’ll post a single photo of our little girl that shows what’s going on in her life. Some days it’ll be exciting. Many days it won’t. But hopefully at the end of year, we’ll have a daily photo record of her at age three that we can all treasure for a lifetime.

Please enjoy the journey with us and watch our little girl grow up a little bit each day.
